Knicks acquire Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic in a massive NBA trade deadline transaction with the Pistons.

The Knicks are looting the NBA’s poorest team in an attempt to establish themselves as a contender.

According to several sources, the franchise will acquire Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic from the Pistons before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, 2024.

ESPN.com stated that the deal moving to Detroit includes Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono, and two future second-round picks.

Burks, 32, who played for the Knicks in 2020-21 and 2021-22, is averaging 12.6 points per game this season and will provide a lift to the backcourt.

Bogdanovic, 34, averages 20.2 points per game for Detroit and has long been speculated to be a trade target.

Grimes, 23, was a first-round choice by the Knicks in 2021 and was originally a starter, but he expressed dissatisfaction with his job and was demoted to the second unit in the hopes of receiving more playing time.

Fournier, 31, fell out of favor with Tom Thibodeau last season and has remained out of the rotation this season, appearing in only three games while earning almost $19 million.

The Knicks acquired Flynn in a December trade that also included OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa.
