A NEW MEDITERRANEAN DIET

A new study has found that a modified Mediterranean diet could help reduce the risk of heart disease.

The study involved 294 people who were at high risk of heart disease and had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or both.

Participants were randomly assigned to either a modified Mediterranean diet or a control diet for six months.

The modified Mediterranean diet included more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein, and less red meat, processed foods, and sweets.

At the end of the study, those on the modified Mediterranean diet had lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and better blood sugar control than those on the control diet.

The study suggests that a modified Mediterranean diet could be an effective way to reduce the risk of heart disease.
